SEMINAR OVERVIEW:
Recent studies indicate that about one half of PMO implementations fail. Why is this? One of the major reasons stems from the (sometimes unstated) primary mission of the PMO: Make Things Better! In most cases, there is an expectation that the PMO will bring about significant process changes with the result that project success rates, lowering of cost, etc. will improve dramatically. However, this can only happen if there are corresponding significant changes in the organization itself. Are they ready for it? Does the PMO really understand what is required? In this presentation, Dr. Evans discusses what every PMO Director should understand BEFORE beginning a PMO implementation, and steps to take to ensure that the PMO is successful even if the PMO is well established.
