People in Projects - Beyond the PMBOK®
SEMINAR OVERVIEW:
It is the common experience of Project Managers everywhere that dealing with people in projects can be difficult. However, it is not generally understood just how much impact people-issues have on projects. The PMBOK® mentions a few Human Factors (e.g. Project Team development), but misses entirely some essential human parameters that should be of interest to every Project Manager (e.g. resistance to change). This presentation drills down into the human psyche and leads the audience to an appreciation of the breadth and depth of human characteristics that can have a critical effect on any project. Participants leave with concrete actions they can use to deal with the People in their Projects.
Key concepts that an Attendee will learn from the presentation:
- People are the source of Project Success and Failure
- How to manage threats from organizational culture
- How to win the Estimation Game
- How to improve communication through better meetings
- How to find Opportunities in the midst of Risk
- A useful approach to the management of stakeholder expectations
